PlateBird (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the PlateBird mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Information you provide: Food logs you enter via text, saved meals, and any profile details such as calorie or macro goals.
Photos: When you use the photo logging feature, images of your food are processed by AI to estimate nutritional content. Photos may be sent to third-party AI services for analysis. We do not store your photos beyond what is needed to return your results, unless you choose to save them.
Automatically collected information: We may collect device type, operating system version, app usage data, crash logs, and anonymous analytics to improve the app experience.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: Provide calorie and macro tracking functionality, analyze food photos and return nutritional estimates, remember your meals for quicker future logging, improve app performance and fix bugs, and communicate with you if you contact support.
Data Storage and Security
Your food log data is stored locally on your device. If you create an account or use cloud sync features, data may be stored on our servers. We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Third-Party Services
We may use third-party services for AI food recognition, analytics, and crash reporting. These services receive only the data necessary to perform their function.
Children’s Privacy
PlateBird is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Your Rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by contacting us. If your data is stored only on your device, you can delete it by removing the app.
